Reigning world champions Mercedes have today unveiled their 2020 Challenger the W11 ahead of the car making it’s track debut at Silverstone.
The team had already shown it’s new livery on Monday showing some splashes of red for a new INEOS.
The W11 is another evolution on the W10 which saw Mercedes score it’s sixth consecutive double championship with Hamilton taking his sixth drivers title.
“2020 will be particularly challenging because there will be teams that will put a lot of focus on 2020 and there will be teams that will start to shift their resources into 2021,” said Toto Wolff (Mercedes team principal).
“Getting that balance right will very important, but that’s not an easy thing to do. Our ambition is clear: we want to be competitive in both 2020 and 2021. That is a great challenge, but the greater the challenge, the more we like it.”
Mercedes will be wary of it’s rivals this season especially given Ferrari’s mid-season jump in pace.
