Ferrari launches SF90

Ferrari has today revealed its 2019 challenger at an event in Italy.

Named the SF90 in celebration of Ferrari’s 90th anniversary, the car features an new matte red and black livery with the ‘Mission Winnow’ sponsor now also in black.

Ferrari will be hoping for a much better year in 2019 as they chase down their first world title since 2007.

It is also the first time they have promoted a rookie driver for some tine with Charles Leclerc joining 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel after only one year in F1.

As part of that title fight Ferrari has also appointed a new team principal in Mattia Binotto who has been with the team for a number of years.

“It’s simply looking ahead. I don’t think there is much to think about.” said Binotto.

“Just do what you need to do and try to do it your best.”

Leclerc added: “I’m extremely excited to start this new adventure,” added Leclerc. “It’s a dream since childhood: I’ve always been looking at the red car hoping to one day be in it. So it’s a very emotional day for me.

“I’ve also been part of the Ferrari driver academy for some years now and that’s helped me to develop massively as a driver with the final goal to have this seat, which is now happening.”

  • Alfa Romeo- 18 February
