Shortly after launching their 2018 F1 car Renault has also announced that young British-Korean driver Jack Aitken is to be given the role of reserve driver for the team for 2018.
Aitken will drive for ART in F2 this year alongside former GP3 teammate George Russell. He was recently given the opportunity to drive the 2012 Lout-Renault in September for his success in GP3.
Renault managing director Cyril Abiteboul said:
“Jack has been nurtured in the Renault Sport Academy so we’ve seen his development over the past couple of years.
“It is clear he’s a talented young driver and he is ready for this opportunity. He has a full season ahead of him with racing in Formula 2 and fulfilling his Formula 1 commitments.”
2016 F2 runner-up Artem Markelov was also announced as development driver for the Renault team.
