Ferrari have discovered that the power unit used by Sebastian Vettel st the Singapore Grand Prix is undamaged and can be used again if needed.
Vettel retired from the race after a first lap crash saw himself, Verstappen and Raikkonen come together with the latter two retiring immediately after, Vettel on the pother hand managed to continue for another few corners before spinning on the fluid that was pouring out his car.
The crash caused big damage to the Ferrari’s side pod and the cooling system which lead to the spilled fluid.
However, the actual engine and other components were untouched and are available to be used again, despite Ferrari deciding to fir new components for Malaysia.
Those new parts will take Vettel up to the limit of four for each component. But the fact he has the Singapore units to fall back on means he is lees likely to take grid penalties later in the year.
