Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has said that Mercedes will keep any contract talks with Hamilton until after seasons end.
The Brit has a contract in place with Silver Arrows until 2018 but is thought to be keen to extend that even further.
Though Wolff has said he wants the focus on Mercedes to be about the championship rather than contracts.
“Our relationship is very good and I think each of us appreciates what he has in the other one,” said Wolff.
“But this is not a topic we want to tackle now over the last remaining races of the season. It’s an intense last third of the year, and we’ll get that over the line, and then we’ll pick up a discussion.”
with Ferrari confirming Vettel till 2020 and Red Bull having Verstappen until 2019 Hamilton is the obvious choice for Mercedes. They have yet to confirm Bottas will stay but Wolff has said keeping him would be a no brainer.
