Former world champion Alain Prost has said the Halo goes against the DNA of F1 and he wouldn’t want to see it in F1, where he has a team.
“I was always defending and supporting safety – but I cannot say I am happy about the Halo,” Prost told Motorsport.com.
“It is against the spirit of the design and beauty and DNA of Formula 1 and the single-seater DNA.
“It is difficult to say this for me because you cannot ever say you do not want to improve the safety which is vital and important in this sport. But personally, for me, I don’t like the look of it.”
The Frenchman who co founded the Renault e.dams Formula E team added that he would not like to see the halo introduced there despite the FIA saying it will trickle down to the lower formulas and other categories.
“I do not want to see it on a Formula E car because they will try and put it on all the single-seater cars.”
