Ferrari has reportedly offered Sebastian Vettel a 3-year contract extension worth $138.5m.
The current championship leader’s contract with Ferrari ends this year and the Scuderia want to keep the German for a further 3 years.
According to ‘Autoweek’, he has been offered a 3-year extension for $138m.
Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen, who Vettel is keen so to on, has also been offered a one year contract for around $5m according to France’s ‘Auto Hebdo’.
But it is speculated that the Finn who turns 38 in October will retire when his contract ends this year.
Vettel has also been linked with a move to Mercedes for next year since Valtteri Bottas only signed a one year deal with the silver arrows.
Vettel’s former boss Christian Horner believes that he holds the key to the current driver market.
“I guess Sebastian probably holds the key to the driver market at the moment.” he told ESPN.
