Former F1 driver Robert Kubica has completed his first F1 test since 2011 when a crash ended his career.
The 38 year old from Poland was due to race in the 2011 season with the then Lotus-Renault team. However when taking part in a rally event in Italy between winter testing a crash caused him severe arm injuries.
He later returned to rally in 2013 winning the WRC 2 class championship and the first 2014 European rally championship race. Later ventures were less successful.
The test itself consisted of driving the 2012 Lotus E20 driven by Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean painted in the current Renault colours. He completed high fuel long runs, qualifying runs and practice starts.
There are possibilities for future tests.
The pole was due to contest in this years WEC but pulled out the day before the season opener. He has taken part in tests in GP3, Formula E and LMP2 cars since then.
